INNOVATIVE MEDICINES SYMPOSIUM

The AIFD Innovative Medicines Symposium, one of the projects planned by the AIFD Advocacy Core Committee for 2022, was held on Wednesday, December 7, between 10.00-17.00 at Hacettepe University Sıhhiye Campus. The "Innovative Medicines Symposium", where innovative medicines that play a critical role in the fight against diseases were discussed in a multifaceted manner, was held with the participation of physician associations, patient associations, academic associations, scientists and public representatives as well as a wide range of representatives from the health sector.

At the symposium, where innovative medicines and a healthy future in society were discussed from multi-faceted angles, issues related to the future of innovative treatments and innovative medicines were discussed by academics and professionals who are experts in their fields, and the importance of stakeholders acting together with a patient-oriented approach for the future of public health was emphasized.

The symposium, organized for the first time by AIFD and planned to be rolled out in the coming years consisted of four panels, namely: Successful Health Innovation Ecosystem, Access to Innovative Medicines, The Role of Physicians and Patient Associations in Decisions on Access to Innovative Therapies and Advanced Therapy Medical Products.

The symposium, which had online and physical participation options, ended with a participation of approximately 350 people, and as a thank you to the speakers who participated in the symposium, AIFD covered the one-year education expenses of one university student for each speaker through the Turkish Education Association (TED).

It is aimed that the symposium, which attracted great media attention, will find a response in the work of all stakeholders and that the through this symposium collaborative approaches with stakeholders will continue to increase.
