SHARE OF OUT-OF-POCKET HEALTHCARE EXPENDITURES IN TOTAL HEALTHCARE SPENDING
The Universal Healthcare Insurance in Turkey covers a very significant proportion of the population and many services. The low level of participatory contribution collected for services and prescribed products reduces also the out-of-pocket expenses to minimal levels. For instance, the contributions collected for medicines are 20% from employees and 10% from retirees.
